Full Translation

You may need a full translation of a document into English or into a language other than English (LOTE) by a NAATI certified translator.  Regardless of the length, we can provide you with a realistic deadline and a cost-effective quote.

Extract Translation

If only certain information in a document is relevant for your purposes,  an extract translation may be more suitable than a full translation.  An extract translation is identified as such on the heading of the translation and, as the name implies, only part or an extract of the source text is translated.  For instance, if the purpose of the translation of several payslips is to demonstrate that you have been in employment and your earnings, it may be more suitable to translate the relevant parts of the payslips that contain the name of the employer, month and year and amounts rather than the entire document (especially if the payslip contains lots of text that will not be relevant to the organisation where you intend to present the translation).

U

Document Review

If you have received documents in a foreign language and you are not sure of their relevance, we can read the documents and take notes in English (or a LOTE) to tell you what the document is about.  You can then decide which document is worth translating.

Interpreting

It refers to converting oral utterances in one language into another and is used in meetings, hearings, court and tribunal lawyer-client conferences, consultations, police questioning, etc.  A person’s grasp of English or LOTE may be sufficient to carry out routine everyday activities such as going to the post office and answering simple questions about themselves, but insufficient to deal with certain situations such as explaining a legal problem, telling what the person saw or heard or understanding legal advice.  In these cases, an interpreter can bridge the language gap.  Our interpreters are fully certified professionals with experience in court interpreting who can provide their services on site, by telephone or video link.

Project Management

We can co-ordinate the work of several translators in the same or different languages.  Our understanding of litigation, how lawyers work and the translation process is a rare asset in the language services industry.

Training

Does your workforce need to work more efficiently with translators and interpreters?  We can deliver training to your staff both on site and online dealing with topics such as the differences between translating and interpreting, the different modes of interpreting and the situations in which they are used, the information your organisation needs to collect before even contacting the translator/interpreter, how to adapt your communication style to make the most of the interpreter-mediated interaction, etc.  Training sessions can be delivered by one or more practitioners and are interactive.
T

Forensic review of transcripts

Your client’s interview / evidence may have been interpreted but you are unsure as to the quality of the interpretation.  We can listen to the audio, check it against the official transcript (or transcribe the dialogue if there is none) and provide you with a report of any omissions or mistranslations.

Litigation-related document review

We are experienced in carrying out document review in foreign languages as part of discovery and litigation preparation.   We work under the AUSIT Code of Ethics and guarantee confidentiality in our review of your documents.  You can brief us so that we can understand what is relevant material and identify, describe and  categorise your foreign documents, so that then you can choose what material requires full / extract translation.

How much does a translation cost?

Four factors influence the price you pay: the language combination, the number of words in the text, the formatting of the text and how quickly you need it.  The best way for us to give you an accurate quote is for you to send us your document in pdf, word or as a picture so that we can count the words, check how labour-intensive the formatting is and ascertain its complexity.  Then we will be able to give you a quote and time estimate.  Your document is safe with us, if you decide to go with another service provider, we will delete it and inform you about this.  We comply with the Code of Ethics of AUSIT and will not seek to take advantage of any information we come across in the course of our work as translators.

How are the translations delivered?

We can deliver the original and its translation stamped and signed by a NAATI certified translator in the relevant language combination (e.g. Spanish into English) in pdf by email.

For an additional fee, we can send the NAATI-stamped original and its translation in hard copy to an Australian or international address either by ordinary or express mail.
